Tenancy act amendment bill likely to be tabled
Gandhinagar: The Gujarat cabinet on Wednesday reportedly cleared a few legislative bills, which will be tabled in the state assembly at the end of the month for approval.
A key source close to the development said, "The state cabinet approved two key bills of the state revenue department. An amendment bill for tenancy act was approved, which will benefit lakhs of citizens who own houses in registered ‘Suchit housing societies'."
"This will ensure legal titles for residents of these housing societies."
Suchit housing societies constitute those which have been constructed on govt or private land, but their title is not clear.
"Moreover, a bill for making necessary corrections in the Stamp Duty and Registration Fees Act has been proposed to include the new relaxation in the stamp duty fees for certain transactions proposed in the state budget," a source informed.
The state govt also reportedly approved a draft of the state govt's adaptation of the model Jan Vishwas Bill introduced by Govt of India to promote the Ease of Doing Business (EoDB).
